Abstract

Infrastructure networks represent complex systems essential for maintaining modern societal functions. However, these critical systems increasingly face severe threats due to changing climatic conditions, including extreme weather events and long-term environmental shifts. Recent research emphasizes not only enhancing system robustness and reliability but also improving the capability of infrastructure to recover from disruptions. The holistic approach to addressing these combined challenges is captured by the concept of resilience. Yet, resilience assessment for today’s complex infrastructures has become notably challenging. Due to their increased complexity, individual components often possess intricate internal structures, necessitating their treatment as interconnected subsystems. Consequently, innovative methods for efficient resilience analysis are required to effectively address these emerging challenges under evolving climatic conditions.
