More than 15 current and former IRZ members attended ISRERM 2026, the 10th International Symposium on Reliability Engineering and Risk Management, held at Hokkaido University in Sapporo from 28 June to 1 July.
The programme offered a fascinating range of contributions, from applications of uncertainty quantification (UQ) and Bayesian model updating (BMU) to innovative concepts, fundamental methodological advances and even capibananicity. Excellent doctoral researchers and established professors alike contributed to lively discussions during the sessions and coffee breaks.
An inspiring social programme rounded off the conference, including visits to the Sapporo Beer Garden and the Keio Plaza Hotel Sapporo, where participants enjoyed Japanese cuisine and culture.
