Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Beer was elected President of the International Association for Structural Safety and Reliability (IASSAR) for the term of office from 2027 to 2031 at the beginning of June 2025. IASSAR is the world's most important professional association in the field of structural safety and reliability. The Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodesy congratulates him on this great success.
Michael Beer is thus also organizing the International Conference on Structural Safety and Reliability (ICOSSAR) 2029 at Leibniz Universität Hannover. The conference only takes place in Europe every 12 years, and this is the first time in 52 years that the conference has been held in Germany. With ICOSSAR celebrating its 60th anniversary, 2029 is a special year for the specialist society. ICOSSAR 2029 will run as a national initiative with all specialist colleagues from Germany and ETH Zurich under Beer's leadership.
